The Bachelor of Fine Arts course shall be of Four Years duration with Eight Semesters in any one of the Streams in fine art discipline of Painting, Sculpture & Applied Art.
 
India has a glorious past history regarding to Art, Philosophy, Yoga, Music & many other Mundane Science. Admired and extolled by many, but equally misunderstood and divided by some others, are the Culture, Religion & Arts and Traditions of the homeland of Aryans i.e., Bhartiya’s. All paeans of praise seem to fail short of the true measure of the incomparable greatness & indescribable grandeur of this celestial land.
 
The Literature & Authentic documents relating to art of ancient India must be studied in original by the student of Fine Arts. These documents are in the Sanskrit Language & hence, the necessity to learn Sanskrit at least to understand the spirit by themselves.
 
Bachelor of Fine Arts course has its objective, the preparation of artists with individuality, originality, and resourcefulness in the field of their choice. It will be presumed that the Students of the fine arts who are accepted for the Bachelor of Fine Arts course have to develop a personal approach to the problems of art. The actual teaching program may be drawn up by the teacher(s) concerned within the suggested course-structure, aiming at a high degree of professional competence and creative excellence. Exploration of the maximum possibilities of material(s) of the local environment, of sources of external interest, of social and contemporary relevance in terms of techniques and ideas with an aesthetic insight will be the main directions of thrust.
 
The Bachelor of Fine Arts course shall be of Four Years duration with Eight Semesters in any one of the Streams in fine art discipline of Painting, Sculpture & Applied Art.
 
Eligibility for Admission to the B.F.A. First Semester Course is 10+2 or its Equivalent as per the Norms of the University. The Duration of the B. F. A. course is 8 Semesters, i.e., First & Second Semester (Common to all Students) + 6 Semesters of Specialization in Painting / Sculpture / Applied Arts. A candidate with 10+2 qualification with 1 Year of formal art education from recognized University / Institute can be admitted to 3rd Semester, i.e. Direct Admission to Specialization.
 
The medium of instruction will be English / Marathi / Hindi or Sanskrit. The question papers will be set in English & Marathi. The Candidates may answer in any one of the above four languages.
